Coach Fran Dunphy
Temple University Owls

One of the all-time winningest coaches in Philadelphia Big 5 history, Coach Dunphy is currently in his fifth year as head coach at Temple University. In the 2008 season, Dunphy guided his charges to the Atlantic 10 Championship.  The following year, he again led the Owls to the A-10 title, becoming the first conference team to win consecutive championships since 2001.  Previously, Dunphy spent 17 years at Penn where he recorded nine NCAA Tournament bids and 310 wins as head coach. Dunphy is the first person to serve as a head men’s basketball coach at two Philadelphia Big 5 institutions. He is a member of the Coaches vs. Cancer National Council and was also honored as the 2002 National Coaches vs. Cancer Coach of the Year.  Dunphy and his wife, Ree, reside in Villanova, Pa., with their son, J.P.
